Practical nanotech musing

How long before we have nanoscale machines that can sew? I want a tiny needle that can guide itself up and down through fabric, towing thread behind it. Nanobots could repair snags in my sweaters, too. On second thought, we probably don't even need nanotechnology to do that. Maybe a micromanipulator could do it. "How about it, science?"

Science has provided us with those self-same tools...but they call them 'grandmothers'.
