Fix your e-mail subject lines, everyone
If you send e-mails with a subject lines that say nothing but "Good Morning" or "Hello," some people are not going to read them. Others will read them but will think you're ignorant. Please recognize that other people have to throw out messages without reading them in order to get any real work done, even if you don't. Circumstances prevent me from correcting some of the people who send me messages with really bad subjects, so I mention the issue here, hoping that I can help out someone in a similar situation.
If you mention any future date in the body of your e-mail, make every effort to incorporate it into the subject line. This wins you bonus points, so ignore this technique if you haven't yet mastered the art of avoiding really bad subject lines. I won't even mention e-mail attachment etiquette. Lots of people have already talked about that, anyway.
