Time to visit your therapist
The list of MacArthur Fellows for 2006 is available. These awards have an uncanny power to make me depressed. Until Little Miss Sunshine, I thought no one else felt that way. Gosh, that was a good movie. The awards don't inherently depress me, but the biographies of many winners invariably do.
In this year's group, I've heard of Atul Gawande, Terence Tao, and David Macaulay. Now I'd like to trivialize the accomplishments of the group by casting my votes for hottest Fellows of 2006. I vote for Kevin Eggan, hunk o' burning developmental biologist, and Anna Schuleit, commemorative sexy artist.
